All in Business

Episode 72: Starting a Business in Your 20s with Chiara Milford

Today you will meet Chiara Milford.  She shares her success story of starting a business at age 20 that has been successful for 10 years and how she is now scaling into the online space!  I love following her on Instagram for her tips on social media and her realness and accent if I am honest, lol.  She is a business owner of 10 years in event furniture hire and now Instagram Mentor. You can find her with her head down and bum up in her garden most days and on the weekend out on the road delivering some wedding furniture too!

When not working you can find her down at the dog park walking her fur baby, sitting in the sun with a cold beer, and a chicken parmy in our local beer garden or supporting the husbo at his local music gig.

She is mostly known for being a furniture supplier for weddings (she is still doing this but it’s a side hustle now!), for #buckingthetrends and for posting way too much about our fur baby.

The things she is most passionate about in life are making sure my little fam bam is happy and spending quality time together, educating small businesses about how to make the most out of instagram for business and providing exceptional customer service to my brides and industry pals. And lastly trying to finish her home renos which have been going on for like 5yrs! 😂 #nevergonnahappen

Episode 68: How to Start a 501c3 and Restore Hope with Annette Houston

Today you will meet Annette Houston, the executive director of Ms. Houston’s Caring Hands Inc.,  an organization she started herself.  What is so amazing about this compared to anyone else who has started an organization is she filed for 501c3 with little to no experience on how to and figure it all out herself.

She started  this organization because of her past experience as being in foster care, being a mom at 15, and coming from a abusive home . She was diagnosed with chronic depression but never gave up on her dream of giving back to the system that raised her. Her goal is to give the support and understanding that she wanted when in a time in her life where she felt alone, unwanted, abandon, and actually hated herself. She wishes she had the support and understanding that she now gives to the young mothers she works with. Her life experiences taught her the true effects that physical, sexual, and mental abuse can have on a person.  She believes you never get over the trauma but you find a way to live with it.  She suffered all forms of abuse but she feels the emotional abandonment, and mental abuse is what hurt her the most and had the worst affects on her life.  Abuse left her so vulnerable, but she fights to be all she can be despite it all.
